🚨 Character Recovery System

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: This system was created to help players affected by our server data incident. If your character was corrupted, please read this guide carefully.

Recovery NPC Location: Prontera (166, 210)


What Happened?

In August 2025, Trinity Ragnarok Online experienced a critical MySQL database failure that caused data corruption affecting many player characters.

Impact

  • Character job data, stats, and skills became corrupted or lost
  • Guild memberships were disconnected
  • Some characters became unplayable

What Was Preserved

  • Inventory items
  • Storage items
  • Equipment
  • Zeny balance
  • Cart items (for merchant classes)

Our Solution

We built the Character Recovery System - a comprehensive NPC-based tool that allows affected players to: - Rebuild their job progression - Restore their skills and stats - Reclaim guild memberships - Receive compensation for the inconvenience


Who Can Use This?

Condition Access
Character marked as "affected" in database Full recovery process

Normal unaffected characters Not available

If your character was affected by the data loss, it will be automatically flagged in the database.


Compensation Rewards

Upon completing recovery, you receive:

Before You Start: Important Checks

1. Weight Check

  • Your weight must be below 90%
  • If overweight, store items in storage first
  • NPC provides direct access to storage

2. Cart Items Check (Merchant Classes)

If you have items in your cart:

  1. NPC detects cart items
  2. You'll be temporarily changed to Merchant to access cart
  3. Move all cart items to storage
  4. Return to NPC to continue

⚠️ WARNING: If you have cart items, you will be LOCKED to Merchant job path (Blacksmith/Alchemist/Whitesmith/Creator)

3. Arrow/Ammo Check (Archer Classes)

If you have arrows equipped:

  1. NPC detects equipped ammo
  2. You'll be temporarily changed to Archer
  3. Unequip and store your arrows
  4. Return to NPC to continue

⚠️ WARNING: If you have arrows equipped, you will be LOCKED to Archer job path (Hunter/Bard/Dancer/Sniper/Clown/Gypsy)


The Recovery Process

Overview

Pre-checks → Reset to Novice → 1st Job → 2nd Job → Transcendent (optional) → Compensation

Step 1: Character Reset

Once all pre-checks pass, the NPC will:

  1. Clear all existing skills from database
  2. Reset you to Novice class
  3. Set Base Level to 99
  4. Set Job Level to 10
  5. Reset all stats
  6. Give 9 Skill Points (Novice points)

Step 2: Choose 1st Class

Select your desired first class:

Choose to become a Transcendent class for additional benefits:

The NPC automatically detects if: - You are registered in the guild_member database table - But your character's guild_id doesn't match

  1. NPC shows your guild name and status
  2. Confirm guild claim
  3. Guild membership restored
  4. Must relog for changes to take effect

Step-by-Step Guide

For Full Character Recovery:

  1. Go to Prontera (166, 210)
  2. Talk to Char Recovery NPC
  3. Complete pre-checks:
  4. If cart items → store them first
  5. If arrows equipped → store them first
  6. If overweight → reduce weight below 90%
  7. Confirm you want to begin recovery
  8. Select your 1st class
  9. Select your 2nd class
  10. Choose whether to go Transcendent
  11. Receive your compensation (5M Zeny + 30D VIP)
  12. Allocate your stats and skills
  13. Done!

For Guild Claim Only:

  1. Go to Prontera (166, 210)
  2. Talk to Char Recovery NPC
  3. NPC will detect your orphaned guild membership
  4. Select "Claim Guild Membership"
  5. Confirm the claim
  6. Relog (logout completely, then login again)
  7. Guild membership restored!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I can't use the NPC. Why?

A: Only characters marked as "affected" in the database can use this. If you believe your character was affected, contact a GM.

Q: Can I change my job choice later?

A: No. The recovery process is permanent. Choose carefully.

Q: Why am I locked to Merchant/Archer path?

A: If you had cart items or arrows, you must use that job path to access those items. This protects your belongings.

Q: My guild isn't showing up?

A: Make sure you're at least Base Level 50 and not a Novice class.

Q: I didn't receive my compensation?

A: Check your inventory for the VIP ticket and your Zeny balance. Contact GM if missing.

Q: What if recovery still doesn't work?

A: Some cases need manual GM intervention. Contact support with your character name.

Q: Will I lose my guild position?

A: No, you keep your original position (master or member).

Q: Can I claim if I left the guild myself?

A: No, this only works if you lost membership due to the crash.


Important Notes

  • Recovery can only be done ONCE per character
  • Choose your job path carefully - it CANNOT be changed
  • Cart/Arrow locks are necessary to preserve your items
  • Guild claim requires full relog to take effect
  • All recovery actions are logged for accountability

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution
"You cannot claim as Novice" Change to a regular job class first using Job Changer
"Must be at least Level 50" Level up your character to 50+ and try again
Guild still not showing after claim Make sure you fully logged out (not just character select)
Need guild master transfer Contact GM - original master must be inactive or request transfer
Weight too high Store items in storage before recovery
Cart items blocking recovery Store cart items in Kafra storage first
